Songs i'm listening to today

Posted by Mogly - July 31st, 2007

I don't want to exactly over cater my userpage with dull posts only because the important or slightly more interesting ones will be lost.. but here's another anyway.

What I like to do is load up my Xbox, plug my Ipid into it and pick a bunch of songs I feel like listening to, put it on random and turn the controller off. Here's todays in A-Z order ~

Babyshambles - Do you know me
Babyshambles - Loyalty song
Belle and Sebastien - If she wants me (Cheers AB)
Blur - Charmless man (see 'this charming man by the Smiths too)
Blur - Coffee and TV
The Buzzcocks - ever fallen in love..
The Clash - Janie Jones
The Clash - White riot
The Cure - Boys don't cry
David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust
David Bowie - Heroes
David Bowie - The Jean Genie
Death from above - Black history month (thanks Luis)
Dirty Pretty things - Gin and milk

: I havent listened to the Doors enough recently for them being my 'favorite band' so decided to include a bunch of them :

Led Zeppelin - In my time of dying
Led Zeppelin - Kashmir
The Libertines - Can't stand me now (Have been listening to the libs/DPT/Babyshambles alot recently, have 80+ tracks in iTunes, so decided to just put a couple on today)

Modest Mouse - Polar opposites
The Pixies - Where is my mind
Radiohead - Just (just the one Radiohead song)
The Ramones - Needles and Pins
The Rolling Stones - Gimme shelter
The Smiths - Heaven only knows im miserable
The Smiths - This charming man
The Stone Roses - Fools gold (Crazy track)
The Strokes - Reptillia (Just the one)
The Strokes - Someday (well, a second from the Strokes, this is my fave song of theirs
Sublime - Wrong way (Cheers Lu)
Supergrass - Sun hits the sky

I've been listening to alot of Metal recently, mainly KillSwitch Engage, Enter Shikari, Lamb of God.

I leave you now as the chorus to We Could be Heroes kicks in.

Just is probably the one Radiohead song that I can keep listening to as well, maybe that and Planet Telex..

Apparently, you're a fan of music with "the" in the artists name.

Every band should have the, 'The Led Zeppelin', 'The Blur', 'The David Bowie.. experience'?

I swear I have every one of those songs except for sun hits the sky.

Geez, we have the same tastes for sure.

Hah, cool. Do you have Boys dont Cry by The Cure then? I had never really listened to the Cure (and still haven't) but got that track by chance, and realized its the tune they used to use at the end of this program 'Match of the Day', which was a highlights show of the football that weekend. It brought back lots of memories of goals being scored and disappointed fans, so is cool to listen to for me.

Yeah, I have 108 cure songs in my itunes.

They are one of my favorites.

Ah awesome. Mind recommending some?

Try to find some of these-

Close to me, lovecats, just like heaven, lovesong, before three, the end of the world

Hope you like em

I thought Erotic City was by Prince, but with George Clinton. But I know the Parliament Funkadelic version as well (I think also with Clinton), so who really knows for sure? I've heard two popular versions of the song.

Also, the Doors are a great nostalgia trip but I can't very well listen to them for long.

Hmmm. Some of those I like, some I dislike (particularly the metal). Overall pretty good. And a Pete Doherty fan too :D. Babyshambles and Libertines are pretty good modern bands. Well the Libertines are broken up.
